Accessing the platform for the first time

Welcome to Skill Factory EAD! This guide will help you complete your first login and set up your account.

Receiving your credentials

There are two ways to receive access to the platform:

Welcome email

When the administrator creates your account, you will receive an email with:
  • Access link to the platform
  • Your login email
  • Temporary password or a link to create one

Check your email

Look for an email with the subject “Welcome to Skill Factory” or similar

Click the link

Access the platform through the provided link

Set your password

If required, create a new secure password
Didn’t receive the email? Check your spam folder or contact the administrator

Logging in

Email and password

Go to the login page

Navigate to your institution’s URL

Enter your credentials

Type your email and password

Click Log in

You will be directed to your dashboard
Forgot your password? Use the “Forgot my password” option on the login screen to reset it

Resetting your password

OTP recovery (one-time code)

If you forgot your password:

Click 'Forgot my password'

On the login screen, use the recovery link

Enter your email

Type the email registered on the platform

Click 'Send code'

Request the verification code

Check your email

Open the email and copy the 6-digit code

Enter the code

Type the received code and click “Verify”

Create a new password

Set a strong password and confirm

Log in

Use your new password to access the platform
The OTP code expires in 15 minutes. If it expires, request a new code.

Password requirements

Your password must be at least 6 characters long.
For better security, we recommend including uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters (!@#$%^&*).
Security tip: Never share your password with others. The platform has an anti-account-sharing system.

Initial profile setup

After your first login, it is important to set up your profile:

Access your profile

Click your avatar in the sidebar, bottom left corner

Click 'My Profile'

In the menu that appears

Complete your details

Update your name, profile photo, and other information

Save changes

Click “Save” to confirm

2. Configure your preferences

Select between light or dark theme in appearance settings.How to:
  • Click the theme icon in the menu
  • Choose “Light”, “Dark”, or “Auto”
Platform notifications are real-time. Optionally, you can enable browser push notifications to receive alerts even when the platform is closed.How to:
  1. When prompted by the browser, click “Allow”
  2. Or go to browser settings and enable notifications for the site
By default, push notifications are disabled. You will receive real-time notifications only while on the platform.

3. Add a profile photo

A profile photo helps other users identify you in the community:

Go to edit profile

Access your profile and click edit

Click the current photo

Or the camera icon over the avatar

Select an image

Choose a photo from your computer (JPG, PNG)

Adjust the image

Crop and position as desired

Save

Confirm to update your photo
We recommend square photos with at least 400x400 pixels

Exploring the interface

After setting up your profile, get familiar with the interface:
  • Dashboard - Overview and quick access
  • Courses - Your enrolled or created courses
  • Quizzes - Available assessments
  • Community - Chat and interactions
  • Ranking - Student rankings
  • AI Chat - Smart assistant
  • Certificates - Your earned certificates

Top bar

  • Search - Find courses, lessons, and content
  • Notifications - Alerts and updates
  • Profile - Quick access to settings
  • Theme - Toggle between light/dark

Account security

Anti-sharing system

The platform monitors simultaneous sessions to ensure each account is used by only one person. Concurrent access from multiple devices may result in account restrictions.
Sharing your account may result in suspension. Each user must have their own access.

Common first-login issues

Possible causes:
  • Email typed incorrectly
  • Account not yet created by the administrator
  • Email not confirmed
Solution:
  • Check if you typed the email correctly
  • Contact the administrator
  • Check your inbox for a confirmation email
Possible causes:
  • Password typed incorrectly
  • Caps Lock enabled
  • Password not yet set
Solution:
  • Check if Caps Lock is off
  • Use “Forgot my password” to reset
  • Check the welcome email for instructions
Possible cause:
  • Took longer than 15 minutes to use the code
Solution:
  • Request a new code
  • Use the code immediately after receiving it
Possible causes:
  • Email in spam folder
  • Email typed incorrectly
  • Email server delay
Solution:
  • Check your spam/junk folder
  • Wait a few minutes and try again
  • Contact the administrator
